Item Description : An extremely rare, antique, and unused "Tinner" hammer - perfectly weighted and able to reach into tight, square corners. A perfect gift for the craftsman or collector who thinks they have seen every tool ever made !! This unusual hammer is 50+ YEARS OLD and is still in NEW CONDITION. The hammer has never been used , and is still in its ORIGINAL BOX with the name "Hexdall Hammer" printed on it. Special Feature : This hammer also comes with a documented account (originally written and given to my father in 1999 by a living, elderly relative of the inventor himself) describing the inventor, his life trade and other circumstances surrounding the invention of this special hammer. A Brief History of the Hexdall Hammer: Hexdall Hammers were invented by Mr. Andrew "Andy" Hexdall. Andy was a first generation American - the son of an immigrant who was naturalized in Grundy County. Andy lived in Morris, Illinois and was a prolific inventor in addition to being a "Tinner" and "furnace man" by trade. I have researched and found United States patents issued to Andy from the early 1940's thru the early 1970's.
