A rare chance to buy a desireable variation on 5 solid silver tableforks in the Old English pattern. This lovely set are with the down turned top that match table and dessert spoons, with the 'pip' on the reverse. They are fully hallmarked for London, with 4 being dated 1816 and 1 being 1819. The makers are Thomas Wallis and Jonathon Hayne. On the 1816 four t are Georgian 'pricked' initials on the reverse of the shank, which appear to be SEP. These are often placed at the top of the front and I have never before seen them located (see photo) The forks are in superb condition, with long undamaged or worn tines and measure 8" in length. T are no crests and no other monograms, nor have any been removed. Forks in this variation are very difficult to obtain and are much prized. Thank you for looking.
