Up for bids is one of the rarest knives made by Case Cutlery Co. during WWII. is a WWII U.S. M3 Fighting Knife. I am not sure if this was an experimental prototype, but if it was then it probably wasn't put into production. This has an oval ridged leather grip with 7 distinct ridges. The blade is marked U.S. M3 CASE. Blade shows lite scratches and some minor staining, and don't believe that any of the original finish is present. The rounded end piece of the pommel as well as the crossguard was at some period painted black, some of which has worn off. I am in hopes that the photo's shown will give the best description of this fine old U.S. M3 fighting knife. This would make a fabulous display item and would truely be a fantastic addition to any advanced collection............ Please see photo's and ask any questions. 50+ Other Knives coming to auction soon, stop by again and take a look ATTENTION INTERESTED PERSON"S: In going through my collection boxes, I have come across the original scaffold that goes with this knife.
