This is Captain Edward Pennimans personal bible and circumnavigated with him on the Whaleship Europa as well as the Minerva and the Cicero. These names he inscribed on the edges of the book. T are many quotes underlined and commented about and countless checks on passages. Inlaid is a fern leaf. Published by American Bible Society NY in 871. Capt Penniman was 73 years old on Aug. 16,1904 he wrote into the bible that he sailed his 1st voyage 52 years ago on Bark Isabella. &.25 x 5.5 x 2.75 in. 804 pp. plus index. Incredible personal captain's view of the world.
