Up for auction is a rather uncommon, 19th-century stoneware bird house. T is no maker's mark and no capacity mark. This highly unusual piece measures only about 7 1/2 inches high, 5 1/8 inches across the base and about 4 3/4 inches across the top. T are three incised, decorative lines across the top and three incised lines around the finial on top. The finial was made and applied separately. T are no chips, cracks or hairlines anyw except that the finial apparently broke off and split in half and was reglued back on. T is a hole in the top of the finial and the finial may have broke when the bird house was hanging.A handwrought long nail or spike, 8 3/16 inches in length, fits through two holes on opposing sides(see pics). For some reason, t is a third smaller hole on the front, purpose unknown. T are tiny amounts of white paint near the rear hole and some on the bottom, which easily flakes off. You won't see many of these for sale, so don't pass up on this one. The Buyer is to pay a flat rate of $15.00 for USPS shipping and insurance. By winning this item, the Buyer agrees to submit payment so that it is received by the Seller within 10 days of the end of the auction. If you are the Buyer, please plan on paying promptly.
