WELCOME TO MY ROSES AUCTION. Fall is in California and we're having the the end of the Rose season as the bloom times wind down. My favorite flower will be producing their last blooms as they head for their much needed rest in Winter. I always have a sense of sorrow seeing this time of year; much as I love this time of year - it's always sad to see my lovely Roses reducing their growth and their flowering. Roses are the most popular subject for Turn of the Century China Painters - hands down. Please see my auction for gorgeous and fine antique porcelain - all filled with lovely, delightful Roses. This is one of the most unusual and one of rarer molds to find of Limoges Vases. This gorgeous piece is completely handpainted also. The artist has beautiful peachy/pink Baby Rose garlands entwining all around the Vase. The colors of the Roses are accented with the delicately hued background colors which incorporates blues. T is also delicate penwork interconnecting the flower garlands. The artist has also painted an irregular border of Gold with black stencil work on the border Gold. The border and penwork has a "Pickard-style" look to it. The best thing about this beauty - in my opinion - are those legs!! Highly ornate and highly unusual, they have cutwork and ins and outs with a fabulous Rococo look. This is a very, very special piece which has been well taken care of. It must have been in a cabinet all of it's life. The Vase stands about 9 1/2" tall and 5" across it's widest width across the legs. It is in just about Mint condition - no damage or wear at all. The China painting is imaginative and first rate. The Gold is fabulous. This is a Limoges mold with no mark - this can be easily referenced in Mary Gastons Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain Second Edition on Page 139 and in Mary Gastons Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain Third Edition, Page 149. Both these examples of this exact mold carry the Guerin mark 3, 1900 and after. PLEASE WAIT TO HEAR FROM ME AFTER THE AUCTION - THE SHIPPING WEIGHT IS JUST AN ESTIMATE.
