What a great, unusual souvenir this is! It has a partial label on it that says it is a souvenir from Miami Beach, Florida. I think it may be from the 1940's. It is a hand painted shell with a real alligator wrapped around it! I've seen similar ones that are all ceramic..perhaps modeled after this. It is in vintage condition, with some wear to it. The little alligator has some stuffing coming out of his hind leg as well. The shell is not chipped or cracked. You can even see the little sharp teeth of the alligator. It is hard to measure...but it is roughly 7" long. Great little, fun piece! Please email me with any questions. Shipping will be $4.95. I accept Paypal, money orders and personal checks.
