This week I have a very nice, original Victor III cabinet, motor, and assorted original parts and pieces. First, the wood cabinet. It is an untouched original that is a restorers dream. All seams are very tight with virtually no separation. All of the corner columns and top and bottom caps that go with them are present and tight. The finish is untouched and needs a complete cleaning, oiling, or refinish-whichever is your preference. There are absolutely no cracks, gouges, splits, etc. on this nice original wood case. It also retains the original Victor paper label on the bottom although it is quite dark. It is missing one of the four rubber pads on the bottom. As to the original parts that come on this machine, first is the metal name plate on the front that denotes Victor III and serial number 23764A. Someone in the past has replaced the normal brass brads with a slightly larger tack as you might detect in the picture. Above the name plate is the original, still working latch for keeping the bedplate secure. The crank escutcheon and original screws are also present. On top, there is the bullet brake, speed control, and what I believe to be the original pressed steel turntable. When I first acquired this machine, I thought all Vic III’s came with cast iron turntables but I found a reference for Victor III, Type M’s that list a “1
