You are bidding on a beautiful and vibrant Victor Vasarely Zebra Lucite Optical Art Cube Sculpture. Vasarely is internationally known and recognized as one of the most important artists of the twentieth century and is the acknowledged leader of the Optical Art movement. Vasarely used the Zebra in many different mediums. This particular medium freezes the many colored intertwined Zebras forever in the Lucite Art cube. This piece illustrates the artist’s ideals and concepts to perfection. Vasarely excelled in manipulating the graceful contours of the Zebra. Each side of the cube illustrates the Zebra form in a beautiful and vibrant color. Two shades of green, two shades of red, one purple and one blue make up the colors of the six sides of this beautiful piece of art. The wonderful details of the multi-colored Zebra shapes are magnified through the crystal clear quality of the Lucite. Each side is four inches across. Displayed on the base the piece stands at just under eight inches tall. The piece is displayed on a triangular acrylic base that is included in this auction. The piece is not signed or numbered.
