You are bidding on one Antique Victrola Talking Machine or Phonograph Player. This is a floor/standing model V V-XVI. The Serial Number is 114147 H which dates it to 1915-1917. It sits on 4 legs with wheels and has four doors- 2 that contain storage compartments and two doors that contain the speaker box. The wood cabinet is made of Mahogany and is very rich and beautiful and in good condition too! It has 2 locks with keys for the bottom cabinet and the top. We will also include an Index of Victor Records Book (which has been written in) and a Record Album with 14 Records (Brunswick, Columbia, Good Time Jazz, Famous, Decca, and MGM) Some records may have scratches, cracks or damage. In early 1915, the "H" suffix was adopted to the serial number. Some changes to this model included moving the crank position further back, and the cabinet design was again slightly changed. The "H" suffix remained until early 1917. At that time, the suffixes were dropped from the serial number. At the same time, the XVI adopted the "fat" tone arm, which was a forbearer of the soon-to-be-introduced No. 2 Soundbox. date: 1917 serial:00 feature notes: Fat tone arm, small glass speed indicator added and serial number suffix letters dropped at S/N 143350 The Victor Victrola XVI was, for much of its life, Victor's top-of-the-line talking machine. The model was first introduced (as just the Victor Victrola) in 1906, and was the first inside-horn talking machine. The style of the cabinet evolved over the years. The inside of the top lid has a decal That reads "Victrola Manufactured by Victor Talking Machine Co. Camden NJ USA Patented in United States & Foreign Countries". The needle area is marked "EXHIBITION Victor Talking Machine Co Camden NJ," and on the back "988958". T is also a plate on the inside of the machine with the model and serial numbers. The inside has a 3 bowl like compartments and a metal dish that holds over 300 extra needles (according to the owner). This Victrola does not appear to be refinished or restored in any way. It works very well and has a nice sound. A few flaws should be noted though- T is an area (we are not sure of the proper terminology) on the back of the needle arm w the screws are that has cracked and has been repaired with glue. This does not seem to affect the machine at all. T are a few very minor scratches and dings in a few areas of the cabinet and top. They are hard to see and we did not think...
