Gorgeous Victorian bracelet featuring three micromosaic panels depicting three different bird species in a gold setting. The micromosaics are finely worked and are placed in onyx panels. Each panel is held in a beautiful pronged setting and is separated from its neighbors with a pair of simple beaded links. The remainder of the bracelet is covered with the most exquisite foliate engraving. The back of the clasp has a period engraving AL Clarke.
Origin: mosaics, Italy; setting, England, circa 1870. Condition: gold work is all excellent, the mosaics have very light wear along the edges and one has a small chip on the back side (not visible from the front), no missing tesserae. Size: 6-1/4 long (could easily be lengthened by the addition of links between the micromosaic plaques); 1 wide at widest.
