Fresh from an estate in Wolfeboro New Hampshire - elderly women formally of Milton & Milton Mills, NH

A truly beautiful example of 1890's advertising and Victorian era scrapbook collecting. The cover is highly decorated in gilt which is still bright despite it's age. The spine is bumped and rubbed. T is minor foxing to the bottom of the pages inside. T are 24 full pages plus t is a program pasted down on the back cover and 2 loose pieces one of which is a Ceresota Flour Advertising card from The Northwestern Consolidated Milling Company in Minneapolis, Minn and also a die cut book which is a basket of flowers and the story "Among the Daisies". T is a number of P Coates cards as well as cards featuring cats, birds, flowers, doves, dogs, boats, bridges, fences, and my favorites the die cut cards shaped like a ladies shoe or a hand held fan.
The program which is pasted down on the back cover is a celebration of The Milton (NH) Public Schools commerorating The Discovery of America by Columbus on October 12th 1492. The program is dated 1892 and lists all sorts of readings, recitations, duet and chorus songs as well as other musical renditions.

This is a simply marvelous album - true to the period - no excuses to be made for it. On a scale of 1-10, ten best I'd say this is an 8. T is some minor damage to the pages but not the cards. I also have another one which I'm listing so be sure to check out my other items !
