19th Century Victorian Porcelain Fairing Trinket Box Dressing table fairing trinket box. These were made in Germany in the Victorian period and sold in Britain at fairs, hence the name fairings. They were souvenirs to take home. This box is in very good condition except for a a 1/2" loss on the right side which has been gilded over. T is also a mirror in the basin to represent water which I think was probably added later. I am not sure if the large dressing table mirror was added later, but it is in excellent condition. T are some paint scatters on the legs, but the paint is in good condition. A charming Victorian momento, complete with chamber pot below. Size:5" high to top of mirror; 3" wide.
