Victorian $5 Gold Coin 1882 Love Token Engraved on Back

This is a rare Victorian love token. This is a $5 gold coin, from the year 1882. The owner had the back polished smooth, taking away the original marking for that coin, and had the name Nellie engraved, with fancy swirls, a flower and leaves. This is on a fine 14K gold chain. True coin collectors wince at pieces like these, but if you think about it, the front is a $5 gold coin. The back is more for the Victorian jewelry collectors. Both sides combined, this is a wonderful, fine antique piece. The coin is 3/4" in diameter. The chain is 16" in length, open, and the entire piece is 9 1/4" in length, when fastened. This is a beautiful antique piece, for both vintage gold coin collectors and Victorian jewelry collectors. This would be THE gift for someone named Nellie. It must have been for the first Nellie. Thank you for looking! Please take a moment to visit my store for more Victorian as well as other vintage jewelry. I always ship within one day of payment, so if this is a gift, t is plenty of time. I neglected to tell the weight of this coin, with the gold chain. On an accurate postal scale it weighs 0.3 ounces.
