Victorian Aesthetic Picture Frame 1870s 15 by 17 #1, This is a fabulous Victorian Aesthetic Frame with gilt edges and a velvet liner. Frame is in very good condition. Needs no repair and has the classic Aesthetic lines with all corners different. See scans. Outer dimensions 15 wide by 17 long. Interior dimensions are 8 by 10. I acquired this from a fine home in Maine along with many other fine Victorian Frames that I will be listing in the next weeks. All are straight from the home and are being offer first on Ebay. Another variant on Victorian frame design at the end of the 19th C. was the Aesthetic style, an amalgomation of Medievalism and Orientalism. Like the Eastlake style, Aesthetic frames are ebonized and have incised surface patterns.
