Fancy alarm clock Victorian, 1898, clock is 12" tall,8.5" wide , 4" deep, and has a 4" dial. Pot metal base is actually in very good to excellent condition. It has a copper tone to it and is not broken any w The faux marble painted steel case around the brass 1 day movement is in fantastic shape with no evidence of repainting or any touch ups. the clam shell topper and the 2 brass side arms are also in very good to excellent shape . All knobs are present, clock has a steel 4 inch bell in base that rings VERY loud when alarm goes off, alarm works well, but clock only runs about 10 minutes and stops, until it is shook and than it runs some more, I don't think it is overwound, I think it is very dirty movement. overall a very striking example of an early alarm clock, fancy brass dial is in perfect shape.
