Magnificent Victorian era
Annunciation Angel, or Angel Gabriel a superb carving by a skilled master carver/artist mid 1800's Pointing to heaven, the Angel Gabriel is telling Mary that she will be the mother of God. The feast of the Annunciation is celebrated on March 24 As often seen in paintings, Angel Gabriel looks very feminine and he is sometimes thought to be a female. the setting is both pendant and brooch. I believe that this is gold, but I have no means of testing it and it appears to be later than the carved shell large, measures 2 1/4"x 2" condition is excellent with no breaks or even stress lines I apologize for the poor picture quality and will try to post some better ones this week an offer that I agree to will be accepted within a short time, I do not wait for a better offer to come in I have a number of lovely Victorian/Georgian/Edwardian angel cameos listed shipping for 2nd and 3rd items is free when it goes out with the first this will be sent with tracking and 'signed for' I will accept returns for this item I have had over 10 years of 100% positive feedback and am planning to get back to that asap Therefore I will ship to Canada and U.
