GORGEOUS AUTHENTIC VICTORIAN FIGURAL CASTOR CONDIMENT SET Wonderful Heavy Hotel Variety Set with 6 Matched Etched Glass Cruets CA. 1870 - 1890 is another wonderful Castor set from my Aunt's collection. This is an authentic Victorian silver plate caster set made by the Rogers and Smith Silver company out of New Haven, Connecticut. This is a Hotel variety set that seats in a larger castor frame. Just love the figural aspect of this set with the small boy sitting on the fence day dreaming....just lovely. T are 6 matching glass cruets with the same etched floral and geometric design. The glass bottles all appear to be in excellent condition and the glass insert stoppers have some minor edge chipping w they are inserted, common for these well used sets. This set is one of the tallest and largest in her collection, standing at almost 19 inches in height and approximately 9 inches in diameter. Thew silverplate is generally good but t may be someplate loss in places and t is some tarnish from age. The aged patina we leave as is because many of our buyers prefer the aged old patina and reequest we do not polish these antiques. Overall, a wonderful set! Perfect addition for a lovely table setting or room decor for the upcoming holidays.This set came out of my Aunt's estate on Nantucket. We will be selling her entire collection of pickle castors, castor sets, and other Victorian items. As you can see from our feedback, people have been delighted with their purchases from her collection. My Aunt was a nurse in WW1 stationed in France and then spent years as an artist and antiquinarian traveling the world. She loved antiques and taking care of them. Please view my other items as we are selling her home belongings over the coming year and she has some exquisite pieces. I hope this goes to a nice home that loves antiques as much as she did.
