VICTORIAN DECORATED ART GLASS COCKLESHELL SHAKER WITH SHELL CAP, POSSIBLY MT. WASHINGTON. HEIGHT 3" I found this at an estate sale and thought it was very interesting. I normally do not collect Victorian glass, but this one really fascinated me. From what I have been able to gather on the internet, it is possible from the 1890's or so. I have seen other ones like it and they are all listed as Mt. Washington. This one isn't milk glass, it is more like camphor glass. It has some small chips along the top edge where the shell cap fits in. When the cap is on. you cannot see them. Paint looks faded and maybe has worn off in some areas, like the ridges in the shell. That could be dirt though, I don't know. Lid is nice. I couldn't find any markings on it.Please e-mail with any questions or comments before bidding. Sold as is - no reserve. I normally do not accept returns, but if you are not happy with the item, please contact me within 24 hours and I will work with you to make it right. Thanks for looking.
