This is a circa 1900's Art Noveau, figural, brass-plated cast iron desk plaque with thermometer in very good original condition. Manufacturer is not determined. The plaque contains an image of a woman. The thermometer is bordered by the plaque. An engraved brass plate is used for the thermometer's background. The thermometer's measurement range is 0 to +120 degrees Fahrenheit. Height of the thermometer's glass tube is 3"; completely intact plus operational. A large thermometer bulb dates back to the 1800's. Someone once applied a removable, clear "model airplane" type glue to hold the thermometer's glass bulb to the brass plate. This handiwork could be redone if it's an annoyance. The distance from the plaque's base to the top is 8-1/4"; width is approximately 4-5/8" at the base. The plaque's "copper tone" surface patina appears original. The backside and base bottom-side is stamped 189. Reserve is $100. To be sent out ASAP after payment is made in time for Christmas. Pictures are provided to aid in showing the condition of the thermometer. No charge for shipping and packaging (via USPS Priority Mail) for U.S. deliveries and includes insurance costs for the amount at the close of a successful auction. The thermometer weight is 13oz. International shipping costs is additional. Winning bidder payment must be received within ten days after close of the auction; otherwise the thermometer will be relisted. Prior to delivery, a personal check must have cleared. The thermometer is sold "as is" and no warranty is implied and the sale is final. Note: The cat, Rosie, isn't included with thermometer; she's priceless.
