England Brown transferware pitcher & wash bowl 1886 Victorian Aesthetic set made in Staffordshire featuring Warwick castle This auction is for great victorian English set of an ewer and a basin with a small soap dish also included. The set was made in England Staffordshire district by Whittaker & Co in Hanley, Hallfield pottery circa 1886 - 1892. The front and the back of the pitcher is featuring a beautiful scene of a Warwick castle surrounded with trees, a lake, swans, flying birds and beautiful roses all around a main scene. The neck of the pitcher and the handle is also heavily decorated. The jug is 12 inches tall and is about 8 inches in diameter at the widest point. The washbowl is decorated with a rural scene of a farm house with a cow. All placed in a pretty cartouche surrounded with branches of roses and rose buds. T are three transfers of this scene inside of the bowl. The wash basin is also decorated outside with three branches of roses. It is very pretty old pottery piece. The wash bowl is 14 ½ inches in diameter and is 5 inches deep. The soap dish depicts a nautical scene of a manor house with trees and the sale boats floating on the river or on the lake. The scene is placed in another medallion surrounded with flowers. This lovely dish is 5 ½ inches in diameter and is almost 1 ¼ inch deep. All three antique pieces read more
