VICTORIAN CARVED SHELL CAMEO PIN & PENDANT 10K YELLOW GOLD W/ DIAMOND ACCENT NR Description This listing is for a large late 19th century Victorian hand carved cameo set in 10 karat yellow gold with a diamond accent. This cameo is a very pretty and exceptionally carved example. At the back of the pin it measures 2 � by 1 � inches or 5.5 by 4.5 cm, the shell itself measures 1 7/8 by 1 3/8 inches. This cameo can be used either as a pendant on a chain or a pin; it has both a pin with safety clip and a hinged loop for putting a chain through. As you can see by the photographs the carving shows a Belle Epoch young woman wearing her hair up in and in long spiral curls. Around her neck is an elegant necklace with a diamond pendant. The yellow gold surrounding frame was hand made for this cameo and is simple and elegant. The gold is unmarked, but has been tested the metal and it is all 10 karat. The cameo weighs 10.0 pennyweights or 15.6 grams. Both the gold work and the cameo itself are in excellent condition and ready to wear. There is no reserve.
