Offered without reserve .
Circa 1860 - 1880 Victorian Civil War antique figural hair harp / lyre mourning jewelry . Gold filled fittings . Has the initials " NJ " on bottom .
We believe this is a scarf pin medallion because t is a chain at the top rather than a fob or charm , but will leave it to you experts to decide for yourselves . T is no stick pin as shown in Bell's book " Old Jewelry " page 58 , but the medallion part is the same.
Measures 1 " long x over 1/2 " wide .
Excellent overall condition , missing small section of hair and chain going across top needs to be reattached ( both shown in photos ) .
The harp motif was very popular as memorial jewelry and is very hard to find, so don't let this one pass you by !
