This is what appears to be an Austrian religious or prayer book, which is bound in unusual leather, brass, and mother of pearl binding. The mother of pearl can be found to the centre of clasp and just underneath the cross on the front board (see pics). The brass is the clasp, the cross, and the floral brass decoration to the front board also. The page fore edges are gilt edged when te book is closed. The endpapers are lined in a white silk effect. There is no year of printing to title page, but there is an ink inscription to the front of the book dated 1896 (see pics). With dimensions to the book of 4.4" x 3.1" x 1.1" thick, and it weighs just 220g unpacked. Refund is accepted if item is not as described or you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, with no questions asked. Insurance is automatically included in UK postage and overseas shipping costs. Uk buyers are covered for upto £50 by Second Class Recorded Delivery (cost £3.95), or for upto £500 by Special Next Day Delivery (cost £7.20).
