I purchased this at an estate sale this Summer and I wish I knew more about it! It appears to be a copper or at least copper colored hat pin advertising the Red Jacket Shaft of the C.H. Mining Co. in Calumet, Michigan. It is very, very hard for me to get a good picture of the top but it pictures the actual mine as well as the wording. Piece measures 10 1/4 inches long and may have been re-soldered at one time w the decorative piece meets the stick because the metal is slightly different in color. The decorative portion appears to be copper (from the mine!?!?!?) and could use some cleaning as I have left it untouched and the stick appears to be a gold colored metal. If you need anything please let me know. It will be impossible for me to get a clearer picture! Buyer to pay shipping and insurance. Thanks for looking!
