RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN OAK DRUG STORE DISPLAY CABINET WITH WORK STATION AND FULL APOTHECARY CHEST LOOKING TO BRING SOME SERIOUS CLASS TO YOUR SHOP? One of the nicest display cabinets we have ever seen! We are extremely proud to present you with this remarkable early Victorian two tier pharmacy display cabinet with recessed stand up work station and a twenty drawer built in apothecary chest. This cabinet is made out of solid oak and has a double sliding glass door in its front display area, two hinged doors on both the right and left sides and two lift top doors on the top of the second tier display cabinet. This cabinet is designed with "L" shaped displays to allow display and access from several angles. The large bottom display unit has its original nickel plated shelf hardware still intact and is presently set up for a one shelf display. In the rear of this display cabinet t are 20 apothecary drawers with the original Victorian iron pulls and placards. This piece was part of the center piece of fixtures in a Cape Cod crafts and jewelry store. The case has been fitted with very high quality lighting fixtures on the top and large bottom display sections. The light fixtures have been mounted in areas w they can not be easily detected looking from the outside of the case. These fixtures are new and all work nicely. The piece was not drilled or otherwise modified to accept the lighting fixtures. If you desire to remove them, they simply come out by removing the fixtures from the screws that fasten them. This cabinet is 77" long, 26" wide and 43" tall. This is a perfect piece for a jewelry, high end craft and collectibles shop or Tobacconist shop. We see a lot of merchandise in a week and this is truly an outrageously gorgeous shop fixture. These pieces are tough finds in this grade and if you are in the market for a unique one-of-a-kind display fixture, it is! FURNITURE WOODS 101 : We get a lot of questions on whether or not the furniture we list is comprised of solid wood or veneered. We would like to take this opportunity to give our customers a brief explanation of the construction of antique furniture. Most specialty cuts of wood i.e., tiger maple, bird's eye maple, tiger oak (a.k.a. quarter sawn) crotched mahogany, Cuban mahogany, burled walnut, flame birch, flame cherry, etc., are applied to furniture via veneers. These choice cuts of woods are prohibitively expensive that they very rarely used these in solid wood form. However, t were exceptions to this. When we are fortunate to encounter one of these exceptions, we try to be clear in identifying the solid wood construction. In most cases, these woods are no longer available at any price. If our listing doesn't state that it is made of solid wood, then the furniture was made from a combination of veneers and solid secondary woods. We list the specialty woods in our listings first, as that is the most prominent feature. Please read descriptions carefully and look at all photos. Ask any questions that you may still have. Requests of additional photos are encouraged, as we are limited to the amount of space allocated for photos. We hope this clarifies for you some of the mystique involved with buying antique and vintage furniture. "BUY IT NOW" OR "BEST OFFER" : We use eBay's "Buy It Now" or "Best Offer" option as our way of selling merchandise to you in the fairest way possible to all. The "Best Offer" option allows you to barter for a price without having to stand by your computer to the end, just to have someone 'snipe it' away from you at the last minute. You don't have to wait for 7 days either! Once an offer is made and accepted , that's it, you have purchased the item at the negotiated price. Just remember though, someone could come in and pay the "Buy it Now" price before any negotiations are completed. So bid early to insure your treasure! Like all other sales on eBay, this is a binding contract, so I can't emphasize enough the importance of asking all questions first and looking at all ...
