Victorian Enamel Peach blow Cased Art Glass BRIDE BASKET This is a one of a kind blown art glass basket and is most envied by prestigious victorian art glass collectors. A very large blown pink and white Peachblow cased glass bowl has decorative hand painted enameled blue oak leaves (represent something blue?) cobalt and white daises blossoms, white butterflies and a gold brocade and scroll accents through out the exterior pink cased glass bowl. The rim has a most lovely shell and scalloped point edge that looks hand cut and polished, but I believe this is pressed, not sure thou. Has gilded gold on rim with a bit of wear which is common for age. On the inside of the bowl is handpainted butterfly or dragonfly type bug as pics will show. Original EPS basket liner is delightful and whimsy to match. Has ornate flowers and other brocade and scroll patterns. Four scalloped shell footed legs are also ornate and pressed with design. Footed base and handle are sturdy with exceptional craftsmanship that is made to last a lifetime. Marked on the bottom Rogers Smith Co. Meridum, Ct. Quadruple 1545 and other markings. Circa. 1880 - 1890's Authentic. Have no idea who the exact glass maker is. My guess, Webb, Mt. Washington, Pairpoint or some other New England glass maker.
