Victorian Enamel Peach blow Cased Art Glass BRIDE BASKET This is a one of a kind blown art glass basket and is most envied by prestigious victorian art glass collectors. A very large blown pink and white Peachblow cased glass bowl has decorative hand painted enameled blue oak leaves (represent something blue?) cobalt and white daises blossoms, white butterflies and a gold brocade and scroll accents through out the exterior pink cased glass bowl. The rim has a most lovely shell and scalloped point edge that looks hand cut and polished, but I believe this is pressed, not sure thou. Has gilded gold on rim with a bit of wear which is common for age. On the inside of the bowl is handpainted butterfly or dragonfly type bug as pics will show. Original EPS basket liner is delightful and whimsy to match. Has ornate flowers and other brocade and scroll patterns. Four scalloped shell footed legs are also ornate and pressed with design. Footed base and handle are sturdy with exceptional craftsmanship that is made to last a lifetime. Marked on the bottom Rogers Smith Co. Meridum, Ct. Quadruple 1545 and other markings. Circa. 1880 - 1890's Authentic. Have no idea who the exact glass maker is. My guess, Webb, Mt. Washington, Pairpoint or some other New England glass maker. This was purchased from an estate in Massachusetts, along with many other collectibles we have to offer. VERY FINE, NEAR MINT CONDITIONDoes display a small amount of wear on the hand painted GOLD accent that is on the pink cased glass side of bowl, but retain most of original condition. No chips, hair line breaks, scratches, mineral deposit, less than 5% of minor enamel paint faded, no major scratches. Retains its full color, luster, and clarity. EPS basket liner is in excellent condition with no missing parts or dings. T is some museum putty still stuck on the bottom of the glass bowl which can be easily removed. Measurements: Glass Basket is 3-3/8'' tall, 9'' diameter rim and the base is 7'' EPS Basket is 12" tall and the insert base 7-3/4'' Buy it now for $249.99 Or Bid! T is a reserve. However, if it is not met, we may consider the highest bid. Good Luck! The new owner will be receiving a prized basket that is a true piece of art work from an era that glass can both be reproduced in the same craftsmanship. Too many man-hours, I guess. Not even Fenton Art Glass, can touch it! 5 Day Auction Ends Sunday, Febuary 3rd Will combine shipping, as we do have more antique porcelain decorative collectibles to offer this week. All packages are shipped in new boxes with peanuts and bubble wrap. Free tracking information will be provided. Free Insurance included with shipping estimate. THANK YOU for your Consideration!
