For your consideration, a fabulous pair of completely restored Victorian Era Girandoles. Webster defines a girandole as an ornamental branched candlestick. These particular girandoles are wall mirrors with sconces, done in the Rococo Revival style, which is based on the Louis XV Rococo style of the mid 1700s. We purchased these Girandoles a few years ago from an antique dealer, who had owned them for many decades. She had been told that they had arrived in the United States by Clipper Ship in the late 1800s. A section of newspaper, used as backing behind the mirror, is dated August 15, 1879. These Girandoles were completely restored in 2001 by Katherine Lee Taylor, a noted restoration expert in West Hollywood, California. Her work order and invoice, detailing the conservation work undertaken, are available for serious buyers.
