This is a very beautiful sterling silver antique heavy necklace. Is very well made and one of the most impressive in workmanship. It's made of a higher silver grade than the typical 925 sterling. Made of 93.5% silver and gold (gf) was used with it's 6.5% remaining alloy (metals). Made by WMF. It's marked on back: 935 (a higher silver grade mark than sterling 925). Maker's mark: WMF ( with their older dagger and crown symbol mark). WMF is the mark of WÜRTTEMBERGISCHE METALLWARENFABRIK of Germany. Founded in 1880 and lost it's import market during the outbreak of WW1 1914. They mainly made silverware and flatware and thier pieces in jewelry are rare and long sought after by antique jewelry collectors. Notice it's beautiful hand hammered trim and the cobalt blue enamelled peices. This came from our Victorian era jewelry collection. Measures: 19 inches long and up to 2/3 inches wide. The links are solid and heavy. Has heavy link chain with width of 10 m. NO wear of enamelling. In excellent condition. Invest in this highly collectible necklace and appreciate the compliments you'll get as it's antiquity value continues to increase even more so over time.
