This has been described by 1 antique dealer as a mid victorian (1860s) rosewood marquetry inlaid and brass mounted fold over card table AND a 19th century Louis XVI style card table by a 2nd antique dealer. Consequently we are not certain what it is we are selling but viewing is definately encouraged. We do know that both dealers wanted to take it to auction and sell there and take a huge commission plus VAT so we decided to see what Ebay could do. Would rather pay !0% to ebay than !8% +VAT+catalogue pictures etc to an auction house. The best description is possibly early veneered in kingwood fitted with swivelling top decorated with floral marquetry to centre and stringing to edge with edge finished withormolu beading, swivelling round to reveal counter well and folding over to reveal green baized surface with cross banding to edge and stringing to edge raised on french cabriole legs with ormolu mounts to knees and feet measuring 30 inches high 34 inches wide and 17 deep. It has been in the family for about 75 years but the space is now needed. Viewing can be arranged or more pictures supplied on request. The item would benefit from some restoration. The estimation at auction was between £400 and £600 Please call on to arrange viewing or ask questions. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM AND IT HAS BEEN REDUCED IN PRICE BY £50 IT read more
