For auction is a vintage, engraved, gold filled pendant cross with a carved, hardstone cameo set in the center of the cross. I believe this is a mourning piece as it is very unusual to see a cross from this era (Victorian) with a cameo. The cross is 2 1/8 inches from top of the fixed, circle at the top to the bottom. It is 1 3/8 inches across at its widest. It is a little over 1/8 inches thick and it weighs 11.3 grams. It has a fancy, engraved bail attached to the circle loop at the top. This has an opening about 3/16 inches top to bottom and 1/8 inch across.

The piece is not marked at all but I guarantee it to be gold filled and a vintage piece. Condition is very good. The cameo is roughly carved but this is typical of hardstone and small pieces like this one which is only about 3/8 inches tall and 1/4 inches across the middle. The end pieces at all four ends of the cross have applied pieces that are slightly different gold tone in color and which have engraved swirl designs.

Shipping in the U.S. is $2.00 plus required insurance depending on the amount of the ending bid.
