Very nice hallmarked silver thimble in perfect condition - no holes or dents. Made by James Fenton, Birmingham 1886, size no 8. Offered in a purpose made dark red/brown leather thimble box - marked on the cream satin lid interior E Chambers, Jeweller, 51 Robertson Street, Hastings. The thimble sits in dark blue plush velvet. The box fastens well with a press fastening. The front of the lid of the box has some buckling to the leather, the rest of the box exterior is in good condition. The top of the lid is tooled with a gold coloured patterned border. I am not sure whether the thimble and box were originally together, but the thimble fits well and it is how I acquired it. A lovely collector's item.
