's a very nice antique victorian civil war era brooch or pin in excellent original condition. Possibly a mourning or sweetheart pin from the early victorian times. The miniature portrait of a lady iand s professionally hand painted with enamels on a porcelain plaque that is stamped "36" on the back like most european porcelain manufacturs did at the time. The portrait is unsigned and is surrounded by a frame of delicate and intricate ormolu ribbon with twists and flowers with what I think is gold or gold filled metal. . The back has a 1800's era "C" clasp that still works perfectly. No damage seen....No Chips, Cracks or Repairs. Guaranteed authentic and as described. Measures 2" in width X 2 1/2" tall.
