This a an iron gate lock clamp. We took it to a locksmith and he stated that it was probably manufactured by the Bradford Lock company which is the oldest lock company in the US as it was started in 1818. It is functional, has a key and works well dispite some surface rust. T are no markings that I can see. The locksmith thought it was manufactured around 1868. I have no knowledge of locks and only have the locks because I bought a button collection and these came with the buttons. It is truly an interesting piece of Americanna and just right for your collection
