Victorian photo locket/pendant & matching book chain, circa 1860 to 1880. The leaf locket and book chain with leaf decoration are gilt over brass with possibly some gold ornamentation. I didn't test for gold as I prefer not to scratch the locket or book chain but it appears the leaves on the locket and chain are two colors of rose gold. The leaves might also be just gilded and not solid gold. The actual locket measures 1-1/2" by 1-1/8". If you include the portion that attaches to the book chain then it is approximately 2" long. The book chain is a 9" drop and with the locket attached it is a 11-3/8" drop. There are 26 leaves on the book chain. A lovely piece of Victorian jewelry.
