Three x antique Victorian mechanical automaton Christmas Cards with moving / movable parts of fine quality manufacture. The card of the boys that stand up when opened, measures 6" x 4.5" approx. The text inside contains a word that some people, quite rightly may find offensive, nevertheless, it is how it was printed well over 100 years ago, and is part of the history of the piece. Please do not buy this lot if you are likely to be offended by this. Out of respect this word has been obscured in the photographs (not on the card), apart from the first letter. In fairness it was not intended to be offensive when this was printed, and is in fact a card given with love to someone at Christmas. The card with the doggies dressed as policemen, has movable heads and bodies, but the pull tab that would appear to the right hand side appears missing, presumed pulled off !! I'm sure this can be very carefully restored and mended by someone who knew what they were doing. Measures a little less than the card above. The opening 3 dimensional diorama of the seascape measuring 6" x 4.5" approx is in very good overall condition, but has very minor damage where it concertinas open at the sides, see photos.
