EXQUISIT VICTORIAN MERIDEN CASTER CONDIMENT SET GORGEOUS SET OF 6 MATCHING CRYSTAL THUMB PRINT CRANBERRY CRUETS CA. 1870 - 1890 Just do not know w to begin...this was one of my Aunt's favorite sets and she proudly displayed this in her diningroom on an old early american gateleg table. It is just magnificent, and something that does not come on ebay very often. This is an authentic victorian castor set made in the late 1800's by the Meriden silver co. out of Meriden Connecticut. The set is comprised of 6 cranberry thumb print cruet bottles all of which are in excellent condition...no damage whatsoever! This in itself is rare for something over 125 years old. The castor stand is hallmarked on the bottom with the Meriden logo and production numbers. The silverplating is very shiney and as you can see from the pictures, radiates throughout. We did not polish the set so t is a very soft light patina. I couild not find any damage to the stand either...just perfect. Even the stoppers in the bottles are in excellent condition. This set just has wonderful presence and certainly makes a statement of distinction in any home. What a delightful set for a holiday table setting. This castor set should certainly compliment any discriminating antiquities collector. SIMPLY GORGEOUS!! My Aunt was a nurse in WW1 stationed in France and then spent years as an artist and antiquinarian traveling the world. She loved antiques and taking care of them. Please view my other items as we are selling her home belongings over the coming year and she has some exquisit pieces. I hope this goes to a nice home that loves antiques as much as she did.
