This is a wonderful Victorian human hair watch chain made from brown hair that has some fancy braidwork. The ends are topped with what appear to be gold filled caps that have etched details and then the hook at one end and the bar at the other. I don't see marks on any of this metal but I do believe the pieces are gold filled, not gold. The locket is lovely. It has a faux gem on the front (which has yellowed) and two places inside for pictures which seem to be in original condition with frames and plastic covers still in place. T is a mark on one area that looks to me like " $ B & " but then I don't see another letter or initial. The first item does look like a money sign to me. Also, t are two faux rubies and a real or faux pearl in the metal centerpiece from which the locket hangs. T are areas of wear to the finish on the locket and the other metal but I would still give it at least a "good" for condition. I believe the hair might have had something put on it to hold it together because it feels somewhat coarse to me. I could be wrong and I'm certainly not an expert in hair jewelry. I assume the hair belonged to a family member of mine but my grandma never gave me the details. I have several Victorian jewelry items listed this week. We typically ship via first class if an item is light enough and "handling" is whatever is left over. WE COMBINE SHIPPING. You do not HAVE to buy insurance or delivery confirmation but we suggest at least one for all items. Insurance covers you in case of loss or damage, delivery confirmation does not. It provides you, however, with a way of tracking the progess of your package. We take great care in packaging and mailing your purchases but we can't be responsible for the actions of the USPS. If you would like to BUY delivery confirmation, please let us know IN ADVANCE OF PAYING FOR YOUR ITEM(S) and we can add this to your invoice . Personal checks are fine but t is a 7-10 business day hold for items paid for in this manner. Thanks for respecting this policy. Buyers from other countries are welcome but will pay more for shipping. Thanks for looking!
