We are pleased to offer for auction this wonderful pair oflate 19 th century native nugget gold and fossilized mastodon ivory cuff links. The piece is signed with native gold and nuggets. The set test as lower carat gold - we get readings around 8 âe" 9 kt with the electronic gold tester we have. These were very popular items in both the west and through to Alaska . They are either late Victorian or early 20 th century. We are sure it is mastodon because at one point we did have the original box which stated as much. It has long since gone missing. The fossilized ivory it in great shape with only a few of the natural lines one would expect. The color ranges from ivory to burnt orange red and black. The settings are incredibly detailed with nugget motif. The size is 23.3 mm x 8.75mm. Weighs 8.5 G. Circa 1890 - 1920 Piece is in great condition. Only age appropriate wear. Slight lines to ivory as stated above- all natural and expected. You would probably never see this but we state everything we can find. We have left this in untouched condition. We do not try to over clean our goods as some collectors want untouched patina. We will ship worldwide. As with all of our auction this great piece is offered at no reserve. So bid early and enjoy.
