Absolutely beautiful Victorian arts and crafts tantalus set with silver plate mounts. The silver is stamped with "EPNS" and the maker's mark "JBC & S LTD". T is a lock and key, both of which work, but we have been unable to lock the decanters into the tantalus as yet. The original worn velvet lining remains. The three matching original decanters are cut in a chairbottom or hobnail pattern and are of modified octagonal shape. The ball stoppers are hand ground, and each will fit only its own decanter. T are chips and nicks to the ground bottom of the stoppers. The visible parts are near perfect. T is wear to the starburst bases and chips to the corners of two. T are fleabites and t, but the only visible damage above the base is small chips to two of the lips and a larger chip to the third. As well, t are small chips to two corners of one decanter, and a larger chip to a second. We have polished the silver sufficiently to assure ourselves (and you) that t is no wear to the silver and little or no corrosion. It will come up even better with another polish, if you so choose. The oak frame is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or scuffs - just a nice patina.. A wonderful usable set that shows beautifully. A real survivor - very few of these sets come with their original decanters. Over all, in very good antique condition.
