This auction is for a solid oak antique Victorian oak dining table. The table was professional refinished/refurbished when we bought it. My family used this table for about 6 years as a formal dining table (used four to five times a year). The finish is still in good shape. The top has a few mar/dent marks (see pic) but nothing the scratched the finish. This quarter-sawn table is 45âe square with three extensions (leaves). Each extension section is 12âe wide (see pic). I donâe(tm)t believe that the extensions are original but they match perfectly (even the apron detail matches perfectly) One of the extension sections has a broken apron piece (see pic). It would need to be glued with a larger gusset (45 degree back reinforcement piece) installed to fix it right. The legs are an ornate 5.5âe diameter with original casters. The extension arms are all original. Two window latch type pieces of hardware have been added to keep the two table halves together tightly. Iâe(tm)m sure these latches are not original. The wedge type assembly pieces, that hold the legs on are also original (see pic). Over the past 100 years this wedge system has given a bit and the table is a bit wobbly. The buyer would need to devote some TLC to make this table rigid like a new one.
