VICTORIAN entirety: 14.5" wide x 11.25" deep x 12.75" tall decanter wells: 6.5" wide x 6.2" deep x 2.75" tall area of divided slots: 12" wide x 4.0" deep x 2.75" tall hidden tray: 12" wide x 8.5" deep x 1.25 tall total weight: 19 lbs. 2 oz the stuff Upstairs, Downstairs is made of, a turn-of-the- century tantalus fabricated in handsome quartered oak with silverplated brass trimmings, 2 cast iron side handles and 3 glass decanters when operating correctly, Defiant Lever lock and key (Patent 137.194), unlock two covering panels that in turn open to make decanters accessible for use while revealing a multi-sectioned open storage area also made accessible by a functioning lock is the release for the tension-sprung hidden divided tray that jumps out you when the release is pushed "down" (to re-secure, simply push release back to "up" position, then tray to hidden position) prominent in the tantalus, of course, are the three matched pressed glass decanters with stoppers, each piece (including stoppers) hand-finished (see detail image) and situated in front of what any self-respecting glass decanter wants to be placed adjacent to: original panel of mirror condition while the the richly veined quartered oak is evident and impressive, the original finish shows age and wear all around (seen in images); original lock and key are present and turn but do not lock; brassing to much of the silverplated trimmings and cast iron handles; no engraving to shield though there is a very subtle ding; 1 decanter is without stopper and shows a major crack beginning at the top of the rim; 1 stopper is repaired; hidden tray is missing 2 or 3 dividers; some staining/ degradation to finish of bottom of open tray and decanters' section (see image) of course, "condition" depends so much on the eyes of the individual beholder, and no matter how impressive the piece presents as a whole, it's over 100 years old and is hardly a perfect piece; yet given its age and features, this tantalus has stellar potential if given some experienced TLC, and the we're hopeful that the eventual winner will graciously gift it just that ~~~~~~~~~~ terms of sale --> seller can cancel any bid and/or end auction at any time --> winning domestic bidder can collect item in Marina del Rey, CA, or pays USPS priority service PLUS a handling fee that covers insurance costs --> winning international bidder pays for USPS priority PLUS a handling fee that covers full insurance, PLUS customs and duties assessed on delivery --> payment by PayPal or ---- within 48 hours of receiving final invoice --> item sold as is - sales are final --> authenticity and condition are guaranteed thanks for looking
