FABULOUS VICTORAIN "S" ROLL TOP DOUBLE PEDESTAL DESK IN SOLID TIGER OAK-ENTIRELY RAISED PANEL AND ORIGINAL Allston Antiques is delighted to offer you the first listing of a wonderful collection of the finest in Victorian and Mission oak fine oak office furnishings. This offering is for a fantastic solid quartersawn oak entirely raised panel all around Victorian double pedestal "S" roll top desk. This is one of the very finest we have ever offered. The desk is execptionally clean and in a warm rich original finish. The roll mechanisim works effortlessly (the roll tops' lock is not present with the desk-not many make it over the years. They usually jam and have to be removed but its not a big deal to replace). It has twin pull out writing tabs, a wide center drawer, four drawers on its left side, three drawers on the right including a bottom double sized file drawer, a full modesty panel and a nice wide knee hole compartment. We have handled several 100 roll tops over our 35+ years and our opinion is that this was made by either Derby Desk or American Standard Desk Company. Each made the finest products! This desk is in a great original finish with a color range from between amber honey golden. You will notice some of our pictures are slightly darker than others. That's from the angles we are using in the picture's flash. The darker pictures are the best representation of its color. This desk is 50 1/2" long, 32" wide and 46 1/2" tall at the top of its roll storage cabinet. It has a great interior and we simply can't say enough about this ultra high quality piece of the finest in real Victorian oak furniture. The workmanship that went into to its construction is in itself a lost art in American furniture making. You are buying the very best in high quality oak roll top desks well below its market value!
