This is a hardback Victorian scrapbook with 73 pages fullof newspaper clippings, documents, manuscripts & photos from the 1820s tothe 1950s. These follow the North / Stanley families’ lineage and relate to a number of topics, including: A number of early Victorian cuttings relating to Mr Thomas North, Mayor of Nottingham, including his visit to the Nuthall & Babbington Colliery in the 1840s. A number of articles relating to Dr Thomas North, from his Dublin University days in 1889, through being a surgeon during WW1 to being President of the Friern Barnet Ex-Service Men’s Club. (Probably relating to the above are a collection of 7 early British Legion cloth remembrance poppy petals, dated 1928 to 1934). A number of late 19 th – early 20 th century articles relating to the Stanley family of Ulster / Armagh. A number of articles relating to Reverend Herbert E. Sandford of Kildarton / Drogheda 1880s-90s Numerous early 1900s photographs, including a nice close-up of motorcar c1899/1900. Thanks for looking.
