FANTASTIC Victorian scrapbook with a Halloween theme. 5 metallic gold owls sit in a tree, while the Woman on the Moon speaks to them. At the bottom is this poem: Five wise little owls sitting on a tree. Up rose the fair Moon, wonderful to see, "Fly away! dear owls. Fly away to me." "Thank you very kindly we'll stay w we be" This is a terrific old album. I was going to put new pages in it and use the scrapbook to display my halloween decorations. The scrapbook is large, it measures 10 3/4" wide x 13 3/4" tall x 1 1/2" thick. The artwork and the workmanship is amaizing. The owls, bats, stars and the woman moon are all metallic gold. They are embossed and in high relief and POP off the page. The tree is also embossed. The back has an embossed medallion in the center and medallions on the corners. Pat. March 1876 is embossed on the bottom. The spine has an embossed leaf and flower design with a little gold left. T are a few stains on the cover...I have never tried to clesn it. The front cover has come away from the pages at the spine.....it's all still attached by the back page. On the inside, t are NO Halloween images. It is a regular victorian scrapbook with trade cards, calling cards, flower catalog covers and magazine pictures. T is a list of names printed in victorian handwriting, dated 1891. A calligraphy design is also dated read more
