BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN SET OF SOLID SILVER FISH SERVERS 281g A fantastic set of quality solid silver blades tines and handles all hallmarked for 1873 by the famous Atkin Brothers (who were in business from 1853 until 1958 when they were taken over by CJ.Vander Ltd) The pierced solid silver HM blade features a sailing boat scene with a blank cartouche, beautifully bright cut engraving typical of Victorian work. There is also a fisherman on a bank.On reverse is an engraved fish on either side of a blank cartouche. The handles are beautifully decorated and hallmarked though rubbed . The 5 tined fork again has pierced foliage design engraved both sides with the same full hallmarks as the knife and matched decoration on the hallmarked handles. In excellent condition with no dents or distortion, a few very small pin holes from overpolishing on the decoration of the handle but so hardly noticeable but mentioned for complete accuracy.Surface marks on stems of handles from age and usage, nothing detrimental and again mentioned as it was hard for these marks to show on photos Cased in their original box which is fine inside but tatty on the outside and catch is exposed but working and obviously keeps them safe Full hallmarks with Sheffield crown Date letter F for 1873.
