Antique Shell Art Lift Top Aquarium Box with Mirrored Back. Behind a glass front, colorful chromolithograph or Dresden fish diecuts, and seaweed . Interior of box is lined with a silvered paper. Aquarium has a mirrored paper or glass on the back with the fish in front. 4.5" wide x 3.5" tall x 3.5" deep ***The first picture was taken with a flash that bounced off the mirrored back. It shows the wonderful detail of the fish. Other pictures are more accurate as to the colors. In excellent condition for such an old piece. Only one or two tiny shells missing on the sides. The sides have floral inserts which probably are hand painted. Over time and dry conditions, some of the paint has crackled and worn off. Still very charming...see the pictures for more details. The bottom has an old red price sticker. I have not cleaned this since I bought this over 25 years ago. It has been in a small showcase with other shell art treasures in my smoke free home... there was some dust on the box when I purchased it, but I elected to leave it like I found it.
