****PLEASE NOTE THAT I FULLY COMBINE POSTAGE ON MULTIPLE ITEMS SENT AT THE SAME TIME AS FAR AS WEIGHT WILL ALLOW****This NO RESERVE auction is for a super cased set of twelve Victorian/Edwardian (Circa 1899) sterling silver condiments. All were made to the same 'clover' shape by Harry Wright Atkin (Atkin Brothers) and consist of 4 open salts, 2 pepper pot, a lidded mustard pot (with liner) and 5 matching spoons. The 4 salts and mustard have been beautifully made in a trefid balustrade form. The peppers are particularly nice with tapering cylindrical bodies that flare out into the clover shape at the rim. All these main condiments have a tiny bead edge to the 'clover' shaped rim and sit on three ball feet. The spoons are of a matching 4 lobe form and have a ball end finial. The salts are lightly gilt. All 12 pieces are in excellent condition with no damage, dents, splits or repairs to the silver. The silver could do with a light clean otherwise it is almost totally unmarked. The mustard liner has one very small chip in the rim. The salts are 33 mm tall and 50 mm in diameter at the rim. The pepper shakers are 57 mm tall and 39 mm in diameter at the feet, the lidded mustard is 60 mm tall and 75 mm long (max). The spoons are 64 mm long. The combined weight of silver is 215 grams or 7.59 ounces. All twelve pieces are clearly and crisply hallmarked:- HA - makers mark of Harry Wright Atkin (of the well known Atkin Brothers), crown - Sheffield city assay office stamp, Lion passant - British sterling silver standard stamp and a gothic date letter stamp. The date stamps are 2x 1899, 1x 1900, 4x 1901, 2x 1902, 1x 1903 and 2x 1904. They are contained in their original case which has black leatherette type material on the outside and blue silk to the top and bottom on the inside. The pieces sit on a fitted dark blue frame and when the pieces are lifted out the light blue silk underneath shows through - very nice. The case is in excellent condition with fully working push button catch and hinges. There is a small amount of scuffing to the front, top edge and a crack in the leatherette underneath only. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT ANTIQUE SET WITH AN INTRINSIC SILVER VALUE ALONE WORTH ALMOST £150. Please see the pictures and ask any questions that you wish. **** I expect payment within 7 days. International buyers can pay by BACS or Paypal only. This item will be sent by SPECIAL DELIVERY to the UK and INTERNATIONAL SIGNED-FOR to the rest of the world. Everything is sent recorded/signed-for as per e-bay requirement for proof of postage. This is a particular disadvantage to my international customers as Royal Mail charge £4.95 just for the 'signed-for' facility (UK recorded 77 pence). Please check my other items to see if there is anything else you might like (and thus get some better value out of the postage). I sell worldwide but will not send to some areas (such as Africa or the Sub-continent) unless you have very good feedback. In short - I will not send items if you have bad feedback. I try to send items out within a day or two but occasionally the real world catches up and it can take a little longer **** I am not a professional antique, jewellery, coin or camera seller. I try to describe things as accurately as possible but remember that I am an amateur so always check the pictures and ask questions. I rarely have problems and they are usually associated with the post office. My wife and I have accumulated loads of very nice stuff over a period of many, many years. Much of this has ended up in the loft where is not doing us any good. I am listing this huge accumulation as and when I can so please add me to your favourites list and check back occasionally - a lot of really strange, weird, interesting, old, collectable and other very nice stuff comes out. Thanks for looking, Dean
