ABOUT OUR AUCTIONS: Hi everyone,thanks for taking a look at our items. Over the next week we will be listing some amazingly fine examples from our collection. You very rarely see private collections like this come up for auction on ebay these days, and all with No Reserve. Please be sure to add us to your favorites list , we do have more treasures still to come! If you haven't seen our auctions before it is nice to know we have Never Had a Reserve on one item ...Ever, no matter what it is! We also start everything off nice and low always under 15.00 to give everyone a great chance at a nice treasure. Also if you see more than one item you like, we give great combined shipping deals, always at least 50% lower for the second item and even lower for more items. ITEM: Up for auction is a Very Fine Rare c1876 Victorian Silver Birks 7pcs Carving and Entree Serving Set with its Original Fitted Case. The Set is part of a Large Collection of Silver and other Fine Quality Estate items up for auction, as you can see in the last picture. We have had the set in our collection for many years and it is by far one of the finest we have seen. The Set is also made by one of the Finest Period Silver Firms Henry.Birks&Co Montreal as marked on the Case. As you can see the Set is complete with 7 pieces in total. The Pieces also have nice Stag Handles, with Finely decorated Silver Mounts. The Silver mounts also have Diamond Registration Hallmarks which date the Set to having been made in the year 1876. What else we really love about this set is the Entree Servers are Very finely Hand Etched decorated, and the Serving Knife has a Great Large Otter figure which we have never seen before. The Carving Knives are also English Made Steel Blades that are Very Strong, Very Sharp, and of the Finest Period Quality. The Knifes are also in fine original condition showing very little sharpening, no nicks, or bends. The Set itself is also in Very fine original condition showing very little to no wear, no loose Handles, chips, or repairs. The Stag Handles do have a few tight age lines, which you would always find on examples of this age, but are also in very fine original condition. The Original Fitted Case also has a great Green Silk, and Felt interior that is in very fine original condition showing no wear, or damage of any kind. The Case on the outside does have a couple cracks from the wood shrinking over the years, but is still in nice original condition, and opens and closes perfectly. The Set has also never been monogrammed on any of the pieces, or on the Top Case Plaque which is nice. The Servers are also a nice Large size for use measuirng 13 1/2, and 10 inches long. The Carving Knives measure 15 1/4 and 13 inches long. The Carving Fork measures 12 inches long, and the blade sharpener is also 12 inches long. I have no idea what the Very Fine c1876 Victorian Silver Birks 7pcs Carving and Serving Set would be worth. I do know it may be some time before you see another set of this Quality, and Fine Original Condition, with No Reserve! As usual we just start all our items off low, and will let you decide.
