VICTORIAN Silver Sauce LARGE GRAVY BOAT H'mark 1900 NR London: Streeter & Company - Stunning - 7 1/2 troy oz. This is a superb VICTORIAN solid sterling silver VERY LARGE gravy or sauce boat that was made in London, England in 1900 by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, Streeter & Company at their New Bond Street workshops. It has three feet and it is finished with a super scalloped ornate edging, baluster sides and a leaf capped flying scroll handle - all in a STUNNING design. It measures 4 3/8" high by 3 1/2" wide by 6 7/8" long from handle to lip. It is VERY substantial - it weighs 235.3 grams - well over 7 1/2 troy oz. It is NOT engraved. It is in superb condition for its age with the usual surface scratching, NO dings and dents, NO compression to the legs and NO stress cracks from the scalloping - it stands almost level on its three feet - see photograph - SUPERB. It is hallmarked with S&CoLtd, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), leopard head, e showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1900. A really lovely and very rare VICTORIAN piece in superb condition after 110 years - probably the best LARGE Victorian sauce boat that I have had to sell!!! Postage will be 5.50GBP both within the UK and to international destinations. Please note that the primary postage costs are for second class (or standard parcels service if the postage cost is over 6.00GBP) within the UK or surface mail to international destinations. First class post usually adds 50% to the quoted postage cost while airmail is typically double the cost of surface mail.
